Parking: Double garage, and off street parking for another 4 to 5 cars
Water: The house is off-grid with respect to water using an excellent borehole (i.e. immune to water restrictions)
Heating: 3 solar water panels feeding a 300l geyser + slow combustion stove in family room and fireplace in lounge.
Cooking: Whirlpool glass gas hob and double electric oven
Electricity: 12 photovoltaic solar panels (3.6kw) which power the pool and irrigation during the day, lights at night and modems & computers all day i.e. immune to load shedding! NB See the note in Common facilities about the solar systems.
Internet: 200Mb/s uncapped fibre distributed via commercial grade access points for coverage of the entire property. (Can be upgraded to 1Gbs)
Accessibility: The house is on one level with no-step access.
Note on en suite bathrooms: Only the master bedroom is en suite at present, but the following possibilities have been investigated to add additional en suite facilities:
Addition of an en suite bathroom off the 4th bedroom. Plans were drawn and passed for this, but it was not built.
Combine the 2nd and 3rd bedrooms into one spacious en suite bedroom and dressing room with direct access to the garden.
If option 2 is taken, the 4th bedroom could be linked to the existing family bathroom for three en suite bedrooms in the house. The 6th outside bedroom would then become the 4th en suite bedroom. _________________________________________________________________________
Pictures of the house are provided on the following pages:
VIdeo walk-throughs showing various aspects of the house, from the road entrance and walking through into various rooms. They are good for a feel of the "flow" of the house.
37 picture slide show for a complete overview
Use whichever of these formats that suits you best!
Note: There is a difference between the photos and the videos. The photos are of the house when we lived in it, whereas the videos were taken when tenants were living in it. Both are useful as they illustrate the house being used in different ways.
