The Archeology program aims to produce professional graduates contributing to the nation’s cultural resources preservation and management.
Objectives
To produce doctors of Philosophy able to morally and ethically take up professions in Archeology, preserving and managing cultural resources.
To produce doctors of Philosophy able to conduct research and apply Archeology to other subjects.
2.Doctor of Philosophy Program in Art History
Philosophy
Studying arts leads to understanding of human history.
Purpose
Handcrafts in Thailand has been created from religion beliefs, particularly from Buddhism inherited over a thousand years, but the conveying of knowledge has never been recorded. Thus, logical reasoning and suitable linking of knowledge data to other fields of study are needed to explain an art appreciation or an oral storytelling about artists.
Objectives
1.Students and graduates gain an insight into ancient arts in Thailand and neighboring countries, in accordance with art history concept.
2.Students and graduates can organize their art history knowledge to make an intense study, to do a profound research and to apply the results to professional and academic development.
3.Students and graduates have a good awareness of art and history and ethically perform academic and professional duties.
3.Doctor of Philosophy Program in Sanskrit Studies
Philosophy
Study, inherit and integrate the knowledge of Sanskrit Studies. <h2 class="tab-h2"Purpose The Doctor of Philosophy program in Sanskrit Studies emphasizes a study research on languages, literature, philosophy, religions, art and culture through Sanskrit language in order to provide a profound knowledge, to encourage the promotion and preservation of Thai cultures and to build understanding between Thais and southeast Asian citizens Objectives
1.To produce doctors of Philosophy following moral beliefs and ethical codes.
2.To produce doctors of Philosophy specializing in Sanskrit and able to read, translate, analyze and conduct a research on Sanskrit language and literatures.
3.To produce d doctors of Philosophy able to effectively integrate the knowledge of Sanskrit Studies into other fields of study.
4.Doctor of Philosophy Program in Thai and Oriental Epigraphy
Philosophy
Inherit and integrate of the knowledge of Epigraphic Studies.
Purpose
Doctor of Philosophy program in Thai and Oriental Epigraphy is Thailand’s only doctoral degree course which emphasizes study, research and inheritance of Epigraphy and ancient document knowledge and integrates it into the learning of languages, literature, culture, medicine and sciences of Thailand and Southeast Asia where human resources in this field of study is extremely inadequate.
Objectives
1.To produce moral doctors of philosophy following educational and professional ethics, specializing in reading, analyzing, critizing and conducting a research in Epigraphy and ancient documents written in Thai, Sanskrit and Khmer and gaining expertise in integrating the disciplinary of Epigraphy and Ancient Documents into other fields of study.
