Lisa Kressin is a PhD student at the Department of Sociology, University of Lucerne, Switzerland. Her research focuses on the current state of method training at German speaking sociology departments in light of the current challenges of Big Data. She is interested in the negotiations involving different methodological communities over the legitimate empirical ways of explaining and understanding the social.
Lisa studied Sociology at Technische Universität Berlin and University of Cardiff (BA), followed by a master’s degree in Social Studies of Science at Humboldt Universität zu Berlin. She has worked on issues relating to the sociology of scientific knowledge, science and higher education policy and organizational sociology.
