Who is using this site, and what is it being used for? Given that there are over 3 billion users on Facebook, the world’s consumption of Facebook is vast, suggesting that it should provide various services for those users depending on their hobbies, interests, and consumption patterns. “We feel like our responsibility is expanding, especially around passing this milestone of 2 billion people in the community,” Zuckerberg said. We all know that from the beginning, it was a social network that only university students could use. It expanded to High School students, then Corporate America, and now, the general suite of the nation, including Junior High aged students. It allows the users to upload photos, join already-made groups, or create their own; you will be allowed to not only upload pictures but videos, will be able to view things that are going on within your area, you will be able to go live and talk to friends or people all over the world. Most of the time, we are stuck looking at our Newsfeed, which tells us what is happening with our friends, such as profile/status updates and Timelines, where we can post things along with our friends talking among the posts. Others use Facebook to keep up with friends and family, looking at the site randomly and whenever a picture is posted. There is so much controversy nowadays about the overuse of social media and its impact on each person or through relationships, whether causing it to be broad or even narrow. Youth today use social networks such as Facebook to help connect, share, and entertain with one another worldwide, plus friends. However, it is not always the safest way to connect, share, or entertainment. There has been so much crime where people will commit a crime or take an explicit photo and post it online for others to see. How can we protect our mental health? Luckily, Facebook introduced some measures to help users manage their time on the site better by adding some features that let you see how much time you spend at the site and put a limit to how long you can use it, which urges you to put down your phone more often, giving your mind a break and keep your safe and protected of seeing/engaging in, bad/nasty things.
