My name is Dr. Ana York. I teach future educators, primarily credential students preparing to become bilingual and elementary teachers. My students are passionate about teaching and often first-generation college students who are committed to serving their local Central Valley communities. I’m originally from Puerto Rico. However, I have lived in California’s Central Valley most of my life. I currently teach at California State University, Stanislaus in the Department of Teacher Education. My teaching context focuses on preparing teacher candidates through bilingual reading methods, history/social science, and visual and performing arts courses. I also supervise student teachers in their clinical practice and support “Grow Your Own” initiatives like Educators Rising and Aspiring Educators that build local teacher pathways. My experience with digital fabrication in education is emerging. I am familiar with integrating technology and design thinking through student projects, such as entrepreneurship labs, prototype development, and creative lesson design, but I am eager to deepen my understanding of hands-on digital fabrication tools to enhance students learning experiences.
