The standard of medical facilities throughout Thailand varies. While private hospitals with international standard facilities are found in major cities, primarily Bangkok, services can be limited elsewhere. Private hospitals generally require confirmation of insurance or a guarantee of payment before admitting a patient and before procedures can begin. International SOS is CARE’s provider for medical emergencies and planned evacuations and works with CIGNA to provide a Guarantee of Payment for services when applicable. CARE’s membership/plan number with International SOS: is 11BCPA 000091. Approved hospitals in Bangkok are:

The primary communicable disease prevalent in Thailand is dengue fever, which is very common during the rainy season (June-October) but can occur all year round. Take precautions to avoid mosquito bites in the early evening period. Travelers with pre-existing respiratory issues should be aware that air pollution in Bangkok is unhealthy in the winter months (December-January). Due to COVID-19, it is expected that people will wear a mask in public places and undergo temperature checks upon entry to the premises. Travelers should maintain a high standard of personal hygiene, such as washing their hands often and using sanitizer. Staff are also recommended to download the ISOS app to stay up to date with location-specific medical and safety information. Recommended vaccinations for travelers include:
COVID-19
Hepatitis A
Hepatitis B
Typhoid Rabies
Tetanus-Diptheria Measles,
Mumps,
Rubella (MMR)
Yellow Fever (Some African & Latin countries)
