The Ten Words
Exodus 20:1 And God spoke all these words, saying.
Exodus 34:28 And he was there with Jehovah forty days and forty nights; he did not eat bread or drink water. And He wrote upon the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments (Lit., words).
The first five related to "Jehovah your God"
I am Jehovah your God; you shall have no other gods before Me (Exo. 20:2-3)
You shall not make for yourself an idol (Exo. 20:4-6)
You shall not take the name of Jehovah your God in vain (Exo. 20:7)
Remember the Sabbath day so as to sanctify it (Exo. 20:8-11)
Honor your father and your mother (Exo. 20:12)
The second five related to man:
You shall not kill (Exo. 20:13)
You shall not commit adultery (Exo. 20:14)
You shall not steal (Exo. 20:15)
You shall not testify with false testimony against your neighbor (Exo. 20:16)
You shall not covet (Exo. 20:17)
The Revelation of What God is
Jealous (Exo. 20:5; cf. 2 Cor. 11:2)
Holy (Exo. 20:8; cf. Lev. 11:44; 1 Pet. 1:16)
Loving (Exo. 20:12-14; cf. Matt. 22:37-40)
Righteous (Exo. 20:5-6; cf. Phil 3:9)
Truthful (Exo. 20:16; cf. Eph. 4:25)
Pure (Exo. 20:2-3, 17; cf. Matt. 5:8)
