How to read the Shivadh Romances
It’s great to have created a series with so many parts that a page like this is necessary! If you want to read the Shivadh novels but aren’t sure where to start, here’s a guide.
In theory, you can pick up any of the first four books and pretty much be okay. That said, there are spoilers in the later books for events in earlier books, and there is a growing cast of characters to keep track of. So if you want to read them in chronological order, which is for the most part also publication order, here’s how it goes:
Fete For A King — Set in winter through spring of 2021.
Infinite Jes — Set in spring and summer of 2021.
The Lady And The Tiger — Set in spring of 2022.
The first three are also collected in reading order into a single volume, The Shivadh Romances Volume 1, if you want to pick up all three and not worry about which comes first.
The Twelve Points of Caleb Canto — Opens in fall of 2021 but is actually set in spring of 2022, after The Lady And The Tiger.
Dinner at The Palace — Short stories spanning from a time before the books (beginning in 1978) up until the end of Twelve Points. The stories are annotated to help readers place them in continuity; the book also includes a timeline of events at the front.
The Royals And The Ramblers — Set in summer 2022 through spring 2023.
Twelve Points, Dinner at the Palace, and Royals/Ramblers are collected in reading order into a single volume, The Shivadh Romances Volume 2.
The Chicken Salad War — Set in the summer and early autumn of 2023, beginning shortly after The Royals And The Ramblers ends.
