This privacy policy describes how the Shopify to Royal Mail Order Transfer Chrome extension ("the Extension") handles user data. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.
The Extension accesses the following information only when you actively click the "Copy Address" button on a Shopify order page:
Customer shipping name
Shipping address (street address, city, postcode)
Customer email address
Customer phone number
The data is used solely for the Extension's single purpose: to transfer shipping information from Shopify orders to Royal Mail Click & Drop order forms. When you click "Copy Address," the shipping data is temporarily stored in your browser's local storage. When you click "Paste Address" on the Royal Mail website, this data is used to automatically fill in the order form fields.
All data is stored locally in your browser only. Specifically:
Data is stored using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local API
No data is transmitted to external servers
No data is sent to the extension developer
Data remains on your device until you copy a new address (which overwrites the previous data) or clear your browser's extension storage
No data is permanently retained by the Extension
We do not collect, store, sell, or share any user data. Because all data processing happens locally in your browser:
No information is transmitted to third parties
No information is sent to remote servers
No analytics or tracking is performed
The extension developer has no access to your data
The Extension requires the following Chrome permissions:
This allows the Extension to read page content and interact with form fields only when you actively click the Extension's buttons. It does not grant access to browse your tabs or history.
This allows the Extension to temporarily save the copied shipping address in your browser's local storage so it can be pasted on the Royal Mail website.
The Extension only operates on these specific websites:
*.myshopify.com/admin/orders/* - To copy shipping addresses from Shopify
admin.shopify.com/store/*/orders/* - To copy shipping addresses from Shopify
business.parcel.royalmail.com/orders/* - To paste addresses into Royal Mail forms
The Extension does not access any other websites or pages.
This Extension does not integrate with, communicate with, or send data to any third-party services, analytics platforms, or external servers.
Since all data processing occurs locally in your browser and no data is transmitted externally, your information remains secure on your device. We recommend following standard browser security practices, such as:
Keeping your Chrome browser updated
Using strong passwords for your Shopify and Royal Mail accounts
Not using the Extension on shared or public computers where others may access your browser data
This Extension is designed for business use and is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
To delete any data stored by the Extension:
Right-click the Extension icon in Chrome
Select "Remove from Chrome"
Alternatively, you can clear your browser's extension storage through Chrome settings
Once removed, all locally stored data is immediately deleted.
Since no data is collected or transmitted by us, there is no data for us to access, modify, or delete. All data remains under your control within your browser.
If you have questions or concerns about this privacy policy or the Extension's data practices, please contact us at:

This Extension complies with:
Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies
General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) principles
California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) principles
For users in the European Economic Area, the legal basis for processing is your consent, given when you install and actively use the Extension by clicking its buttons.
In plain language: This Extension works entirely in your browser. When you copy an address from Shopify, it's temporarily saved on your computer. When you paste it into Royal Mail, that saved data is used. Nothing is sent anywhere else. We never see, collect, or store your data.
