Price Tracker Pro ("the Extension", "we", "our") is a Chrome browser extension designed to help e-commerce businesses track competitor prices and manage pricing across Shopify and Magento stores. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our Extension. Our Commitment: We are committed to protecting your privacy. Price Tracker Pro does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers.
2. INFORMATION WE DO NOT COLLECT
Price Tracker Pro DOES NOT collect, store, or transmit:

3. LOCAL DATA STORAGE
All data processed by Price Tracker Pro is stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage API. This data never leaves your browser unless you explicitly configure API connections to your own stores.

3.2 Data Security:
All data is encrypted by Chrome's storage system
API credentials are stored securely in Chrome's local storage
Data is only accessible by the Extension on your device
No data is transmitted to our servers
4. EXTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS
The Extension communicates only with the following services, and only when you explicitly configure or use these features:
4.1 Music Magpie (musicmagpie.co.uk)
Purpose: To track competitor product prices
Data Accessed: Product names, SKUs, and prices from public product pages
When: When you browse Music Magpie and click the tracker button
Data Sent: None - the Extension only reads publicly available data
4.2 Your Shopify Store (*.myshopify.com)
Purpose: To update product prices on your Shopify store
Data Sent: Product variant IDs and new price values via Shopify Admin API
When: Only when you click "Update Prices" in the Compare Prices page
Requirements: You must configure your Shopify API credentials in Settings
Authentication: Uses your Shopify Admin API access token
4.3 Your Magento Store (tradein.co.uk)
Purpose: To update product prices on your Magento store
Data Sent: Product SKUs and new price values via Magento REST API
When: Only when you click "Update Prices" in the Compare Prices page
Requirements: You must configure your Magento API credentials in Settings
Authentication: Uses your Magento REST API access token
Important: All API communications are direct between your browser and your stores. We do not act as an intermediary, and we never see or store your API credentials on any external server.
5. PERMISSIONS EXPLANATION
The Extension requires certain Chrome permissions to function. Here's why each permission is necessary:
5.1 Chrome Permissions:

tabs- Open extension pages (Price Checker, Compare Prices, etc.) in new tabs
scripting-Inject content scripts to capture pricing data from Music Magpie pages
notifications-Show notifications when bulk price updates complete or errors occur
alarms-Schedule periodic price checks and automatic product synchronization
5.2 Host Permissions:

6. DATA SHARING AND THIRD PARTIES
We DO NOT:
❌ Share any data with third parties
❌ Sell any data to advertisers or data brokers
❌ Use analytics services or tracking tools
❌ Send any data to our own servers
❌ Use any third-party libraries that collect data
The Extension operates entirely within your browser. The only external communications are direct API calls to your own Shopify and Magento stores, which you explicitly configure.
7. DATA RETENTION
Local Storage: Data remains in Chrome's local storage until you:
Uninstall the Extension
Clear browser data
Manually delete data within the Extension
Automatic Deletion: No data is automatically sent to external servers, so there's nothing to delete on our end
Your Control: You can delete all Extension data at any time by:
Uninstalling the Extension
Or clearing Chrome's extension data via Chrome Settings > Privacy and Security > Clear browsing data > Cookies and other site data
8. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
Price Tracker Pro is designed for business use and is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
9. SECURITY
We take security seriously:
✅ All code is packaged within the Extension (no remote code execution)
✅ API credentials stored using Chrome's secure storage
✅ Direct HTTPS connections to Shopify and Magento APIs
✅ No data transmitted to third-party servers
✅ Regular security updates
Your Responsibility:
Keep your Shopify and Magento API credentials secure
Only install the Extension from the official Chrome Web Store
Use strong API access tokens with limited permissions
10. YOUR RIGHTS
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control:
Access: View all stored data within the Extension pages
Modification: Edit or update any tracked products, assignments, or settings
Deletion: Delete individual products or all data by uninstalling
Export: Export product data using the Extension's export feature
Portability: All data is in JSON format and can be exported
11. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:
Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
Displaying a notification within the Extension (for significant changes)
Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
