What if high school students were given the opportunity to explore their interests, develop their skills, and make positive impacts through hands-on projects? That’s exactly what the explore and more program is promoting with high school students in all different grades. The program gives students the freedom to choose what project they want to work on and does everything they can to make sure it is successful. Mentors and students then spend weeks working on the project of their choice and have the opportunity to gain more knowledge about their project materials and the experience of collaboration and teamwork skills and creativity skills. A few of the projects the students worked on in the past few weeks is making cook books, ribbon skirts, and designing safer basketball shoes. They presented these projects at the Spring Poster Symposium on Thursday May 16, 2024 at Oregon State University.
