This year, as a result of COVID restrictions, all members are required to sign special waivers/agreements. These can be found on our webpage.
Here are some answers to questions about online registration we have received.
1. Who can use the trails? Answer: Anyone can use the trails once they have their season trail pass. Trail users must use skis or snowshoes. Walking is NOT permitted on the trails.
2. Why does Zone4 show up on my credit card statement? Answer: Zone4 is a legitimate national company with their main office in Alberta that does online registration for Cross-country Canada and many other sports.
3. Why does a processing fee show up when I register online? Answer: Zone4 charges processing fees to pay for their services. More info here: https://help.zone4.ca/processing-fee-change-2019/
4. How can I get my laminated trail pass? Answer: If you register online you can pick up your laminated trail pass any time the chalet is open. The chalet will be open every day once we get enough snow for grooming.
5. What are Junior Development Tickets. This is a fund raiser that Cross-country NL does each year to raise money for youth programs in clubs around the province. Most of the money collected stays at the local club. Why not purchase a couple of tickets when you register? Your money helps our Jackrabbit program and you get a chance to win great prizes. We will fill out your tickets for you. You can also pick them up in person at the chalet.
6. When will the trails and chalet be open? Answer: Snowshoers, with a trail pass, can use the trails anytime there is enough snow (except for really mild weather). Skiers should wait until there is enough snow for us to start grooming. Once we start grooming the chalet will be open every day that weather permits. Watch your email and our Facebook page for updates.
7. Can I walk my dog on the trails? Answer: Dogs are not permitted on the trails. Dogs can be a serious risk by getting in the way of skiers and the groomer spreads their poop over a big stretch of the trail.
Notes concerning trail use:
All trail users must go in single file.
Trails are groomed for classic and skate skiing.
Skiers travel the trails in a counter-clockwise direction. Snowshoers can use the snowshoe trail or the ski trail. Snowshoers using the ski trail travel in a clockwise direction. Snowshoers must keep to the right of the trail and ALWAYS give skiers the right of way.
Trail users must respect social distancing guidelines in the parking lot and on the trails.
