Helping everyone engage with mathematics in a way that works for them
At explainIT NZ, we believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to succeed in mathematics. For many people, traditional approaches to learning and using maths create unnecessary barriers. That's why we design innovative, accessible tools that reduce cognitive load, build confidence, and make mathematical thinking easier to understand.
Our products combine educational research, practical classroom experience, and user-centred design to support learners of all ages. Whether it's identifying potential signs of dyscalculia through Numbers Explorer, reducing maths anxiety with DysCalculator, or providing high-quality learning resources through our Maths Packs, or delivering engaging workshops and professional learning for educators and organisations, everything we do has one purpose: helping people engage with mathematics in a way that works for them.
Developed in Aotearoa New Zealand and used by educators, learners, families, and organisations around the world, our tools are designed to be practical, inclusive, and empowering. We continue to work closely with educators and people with lived experience to ensure our products meet real needs and make a meaningful difference.
