The Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope

The Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope (formally the WFIRST mission) is currently in Phase B with a launch date set to ~late 2025, and teams are actively working towards the Preliminary Design Review for CGI. The guaranteed "Tech(nology) Demo(nstrator)" phase is currently set for ~3 months of observing during the first 1.5 years of the mission. Thereafter, NASA envisions a Participating Scientist Program (PSP) for community involvement. CGI will be the first instrument to approach the contrast and angular separation parameters needed to directly image mature gas giant exoplanets in reflected starlight and much more.
