Over the last few years I've created a few webinars and tutorials as part of various assignments and professional development opportunities. If you have any follow-up questions or would like me to create a tutorial for a specific library product, please reach out with the form below.

Mentorship Webinar
Overview: Understanding and navigating an organization’s structure and culture is essential for new librarians. Mentorship is one way to alleviate this learning curve and help propel new employees on a successful career trajectory. It provides a safe outlet for mentees to communicate and learn from another’s experience when issues arise. This out of the box thinking assists in problem solving normally not seen at an entry level. It allows mentors to learn from a fresh perspective and not become locked into antiquated mindsets. Participants of mentorship programs report better job satisfaction and are less likely to succumb to burnout. Mentorship can also be an instrumental tool in supporting minorities and encouraging advancement into leadership roles. Although academic librarians are predominantly white females, leadership positions are routinely held by men. Mid-career mentorship opportunities can support and empower women and minority candidates whose employment momentum has plateaued. Mentorship programs are not limited to employers; state and regional library associations can support members by offering mentorship programs.
Intended Audience: New to mid-career librarians, their HR and management teams, and the library organizations who support them.
Who Benefits: The benefits of mentorship are extensive. First, mentees themselves gain knowledge and advice that exceeds their experience. At the same time, mentors benefit from the exchange, relationship, and leadership experience. Management and leadership benefit from higher employee retention rates, and patrons receive better library services.
Maker's Space
Do makerspaces in libraries contribute to information literacy? This 90-second video endeavors to answer this controversial question by analyzing an annotated bibliography on the subject.
Please pardon the squeaky door halfway through the video, my curious cat got tired of listening to me and left the room.
Apparently I found the whole process comical (or maybe it was the antics of my cat) and look like I'm about to laugh the entire time...
Google Lens Tutorial
I use Google almost daily! A few years ago I learned about Google Lens and it was life-changing. This video was part of a larger group project on how Google Tools support information literacy. It briefly covers how you too can use Google Lens to:
Identify objects
Translate text
Get homework help
Transfer data
Have text read out loud
