Explained to two bicyclists and one walker that this exit will be officially open to vehicular traffic per Google on 7/6 though DOT says 7/11. Also explained to bicyclists that several of us are requesting that one lane be kept for low speed vehicles. They got that.
NYC is having problems with its budget, then why is DOT spending money on this exit now?

Fence at St. Clair which does not pose an obstruction to bicycles or pedestrians.
Piles of asphalt and soil still remain.
Torn up surface, striped jersey barrier and wooden fence remain.
Light pole next to fence less fence pole.
From the fence less fence pole one can see the asphalt pile though it is very far away.
