From time to time messages have to be passed that are of a higher priority than routine calls.
In these cases, the following pro words should be used to break in transmissions.
Stations that are not in the interchange must remain silent until the message has been passed.
The pro words “Priority, Priority” (for life threatening situations). By implication unnecessary transmissions must cease.
YOU: PRIORITY PRIORITY, Romeo 303, OVER
THEM: Romeo 303, GO AHEAD OVER
Control may use the phrase ALL UNITS STANDBY UNLESS URGENT.
No calls should be made until this message has been lifted – ALL UNITS STANDBY LIFTED.
