Travel Information

The workshop venue is located at the University of Manchester Oxford Road campus. An interactive map of the campus can be found at:

There is also an accessibility map for the University on the AccessAble website. It includes access guides for each building. There are several possibilities to arrive to the campus from the airport 


-By taxi

Manchester Airport is located just 14 kilometres south of the city centre and is about 20 minutes away by taxi. It's likely to cost between £25 and £35 (depending on traffic) to travel by taxi to the University.

As you arrive in the Arrivals hall look out for the signage for 'Taxis' and you will see ranks of Black Cab taxis outside each of the terminals. Alternatively you can book with Streetcars. The details can be found on the Airport website.


 -By train

There are regular trains between Manchester airport and the city center. The train stations closest to campus are the Manchester Oxford Road and the Piccadilly Train Stations.

MANCHESTER OXFORD ROAD RAILWAY STATION

The Oxford Road campus is just a five minute walk from Oxford Road Station. There are regular trains from Oxford Road to the Manchester airport and other regional destinations.

MANCHESTER PICCADILLY RAILWAY STATION

Piccadilly Station is connected to local, regional and national rail services and via the West Coast Mainline. You can walk to the Oxford Road campus in 15-20 minutes from Piccadilly Train Station. Alternatively, take the 147 bus to Oxford Road. The 147 bus runs every 10-15 minutes throughout the working day.

-By bus

The campus is on Oxford Road, traditionally one of the busiest bus corridors in Europe. There are good links to the airport, south Manchester and the city centre, including direct services to Piccadilly Gardens and Piccadilly Train Station. -By Metrolink

There is a metrolink line from the airport to the city center. The Oxford Road campus is a 15 minute walk from the St Peters Square tram stop.
