Alireza Karami

Is number represented independently from other quantities in the human brain?"

Alireza Karami is a PhD student at the Center for Mind/Brain Sciences (CIMeC), University of Trento. Alireza holds a Master’s in Cognitive Science from Shahid Beheshti University, Iran and a Bachelor’s in Computer Science from Sharif University of Technology, Iran. His primary research interests involve math cognition, especially numerosity perception. He uses mainly neuroimaging methods such as fMRI, MEG and EGG for his research.

Jianghao Liu

“The mind/brain’s eye: Ultra-high field fMRI of visual mental imagery”

Jianghao Liu is a 3DS PhD student at Paris Brain Institute, under the supervision of Pr.Paolo Bartolomeo. His PhD project deals with the neural bases of human visual experience. He is particularly interested in visual mental imagery, aphantasia, and the interactions between visual attention and conscious visual experience. His research uses techniques such as ultra-high field fMRI, incracranial recording on epileptic patients, and computational modeling. He holds a French engineer diploma in mechanics and a Msc in Neural Engineering from Arts et Métiers ParisTech
