Write the complete title of your session here. You can change it later. (Please note: EVO offers ‘sessions’ and not ‘courses,’ so be sure to use the word ‘session.’)
If you already have a logo for your session, insert the logo in the Google Docs. If you don't prepare a logo for your session, insert it at the top of your Google Doc.

Write a brief description of your session; it should be no more than 50 words. Your audience includes potential participants in the session. Be specific. If possible, include a phrase or sentence on the key takeaways participants can expect to gain for their teaching.
Guidelines:
Check the word count and post the number of words in parentheses.
Review sample abstracts (session descriptions) from the EVO25 Sessions.
State who your main audience is. Who is most likely to be interested in your session? Be as specific as possible (i.e., not "teachers of English" but “primary/secondary school teachers, adult education teachers, business English teachers, teacher trainers,” etc.).
Syllabus:
Provide the syllabus for the five-week session. Keep it balanced and achievable. If you build in weekly synchronous/live sessions, state their purpose and outline your expectations. See some suggestions below
Content: Summarize what the content of the session is in general terms
Explain how to get certificates
Explain about tasks in general (type of activities, recommendations for success, etc.)
Remember to include time for participants to get-acquainted with the LMS and the other participants, for introductions, and becoming familiar with session tools as appropriate during the first week. Each week should have a focus, specific week objective(s), and at least 2 tasks. If applicable who the moderator(s) for each week will be.
Recommendation: Review sample session syllabi in the accepted EVO 2025 Sessions.

Learning Management System (LMS) and Communication Media:
In what Learning Management System (LMS) will the content for your session reside? What LMS will you use? Where/how will you communicate with participants during the session? Be as specific as possible at this stage. You may make changes during the training session for moderators.
Remember: EVO is a completely free event, so access to your selected platform should be kept free for participants in your session. In addition all tools used should be free to use and not require from participants payments or financial contributions.
Content space (the Learning Management System, LMS, where your syllabus, weekly modules with readings, videos, and activities will be, e.g., Canvas Free for Teachers, Moodle, Google Classroom)
Interactive space (group/community/forum, e.g., Canvas Free for Teachers—Discussions, Moodle Discussions, Google Classroom Discussions)
Live meeting space (for synchronous events/webinars, e.g., Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, GoBrunch, BigBlueButton—in Canvas and in Moodle, Jitsi)
List only open-access, free reading materials that you will include in your session for participants to read.
(Advice on how to find open-access articles: https://libraries.mit.edu/scholarly/publishing/find-oa-articles/)
Use APA-style reference format (APA, 7th ed., 2020) to cite the readings. How to cite ChatGPT through APA: How to cite ChatGPT by the American Psychological Association (APA)
What other technology tools will you introduce or practice with participants? (e.g., AboutMe for introductions, Audacity or Vocaroo for recording audio, etc.). You can add more or make changes during the training session. If you don't know, write, "We are exploring other technology tools and have been thinking of …" (provide some potential examples; they don’t need to be definite).
Sponsors are professional associations who would be willing to advertise your session in their e-list or newsletters for free, and who would help create an audience for your session and a wide interest in EVO participation. (No money or other physical support is requested!) TESOL Interest Section(s) or affiliate(s), IATEFL Special Interest Group(s), or other group(s) who could sponsor, i.e., help promote, your session, such as JALT, KOTESOL, or AVEALMEC.
NOTE: State the name of the person who approved sponsorship and the date next to the organization.
Fill in the table for all session moderators, guest speakers should not be included in this table. Please review the requirements for all moderators at EVO Moderator Professional Development (MOD PD - purpose, expected outcomes, and policy) for the requirements carefully. First-time moderators and returning moderators are required to take part in the training session; as each group will have specific PD pathways with the training.
NOTE: Your list of moderators should be complete when you submit the proposal. Should you identify additional moderators for your session, you are required to notify the EVO Coordination team about their status (new or returning) and add to the list.
The primary contact(s) is the lead moderator(s) of the session. Lead moderators need to register for the Moderator Professional Development course and make sure that all moderators are registered as well. They are responsible for collaboration among the team, as well as communicating deadlines, special events like EVO live webcasts, and other information to their co-moderators. They are encouraged to participate in the discussions.
