Outdoor Adaptive Programs
Our largest focus for girls with disabilities in Central Kentucky is providing outdoor programming. We focus on outdoor experiences, and bringing the outdoors to girls. This is because many girls in this community do not have access to these experiences! By getting girls outside, we are able to bring something truly unique and special to our girls.
Training For Girl Scout Leaders
We provide training and education to Girl Scout Leaders as well as Program Assistants who work directly with girl with disabilities in our Girl Scout Council. We work with professionals within our community to bring evidence based, girl focused, education to those who need it most, our leaders!
Year Round Troop Programming
Every Ability Counts supports Troop 2582 and Troop 7086 through a collaborative relationship.
Troop 2582 allows girls who wish to participate in a year round, troop based, Girl Scout experience to access Girl Scout programming in the traditional meeting based model. Troop 7086 provides older girls a place to become involved in the Girl Scout leadership experience where they can find opportunities to engage in experiences that support girls with disabilities.
Through this collaborative model, we have watched lifelong friendships bloom, as well as understanding that transcends any level of ability.
