I’m Dr. Ladan Espandar, a fellowship-trained cornea, cataract, and refractive surgeon dedicated to delivering precision outcomes through advanced techniques and compassionate care.
My journey in medicine began in Tehran, where I trained in ophthalmology and discovered a deep commitment to restoring sight. I later continued my training in the United States at Tulane University, followed by an ophthalmic pathology fellowship at the Moran Eye Center and a cornea and refractive surgery fellowship at Duke University.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching and practicing at leading institutions, including the University of Pittsburgh. I’ve scored in the 99th percentile on board exams and earned additional credentials like a master’s degree in clinical research and the Physician CEO title from Kellogg's School of Management at Northwestern University.
I’m deeply committed to using advanced technology, research, and compassion to deliver outcomes that change lives. Whether designing a LASIK plan, managing complex corneal transplants, or busting myths in the exam room, I strive to make every encounter personal and precise.
Outside of the OR, I’m also a lifelong mountaineer — and I bring the same focus, resilience, and respect for details to every summit I climb and every patient I serve.
