In this lab, the development of natural cities in the US were animated using GIS. Natural cities refer to human settlements or human activity, which is extracted from check-in points or locations.

The data in this lab was extracted from the check-in data in US mainland of former Location-based social medium Brightkite. The time span stretches from april to december in the year of 2008.
