Current and future Systems

The following is a list of the current systems used on Everett Community college campus, as well as the things that are going to change. Each system has a description of what it is and why it is important to know about your resources and how they work. Under each of the descriptions is also a link where you can sign up or look into the information regarding that source. The focus for this page is spreading awareness for the resources available and making sure that its accessible.

campus security number

There is currently a 24/7 campus security number as well as an office security number, their hours are 8am-4pm. These numbers are currently only accessible to verbal phone calls. If you have an immediate emergency that you need to text over call than I urge you to contact to 911. There are plans to change the phone lines on campus to be available for both verbal communication as well as written communication that is more accessible to everyone.

Smart-911

Smart911 is a city-wide free resource that gives updates relating to important weather updates such as earthquakes. As well as community safety and crime updates in the area. By signing up for this source you can get text or email notifications depending on your preference. By signing up for Smart911 you can also input as much information as you feel comfortable with so that if you are ever needed to call 911, they can have the information that you provide so they can better help you as quick as possible.

rave

EvCC uses the RAVE system that gives campus updates in regard to emergencies and important campus alerts. Currently staff and faculty are automatically opted into the system, but students have to sign up for the service on their own time. There is a proposal to change the system so that students are also opted in for email notifications. Below is the link for RAVE that you can sign up for either email or text notifications relating to the campus updates and alerts.

informacast fusion

Currently InformaCast is a primarily audio notification system that connects across campus to give immediate updates and emergency alerts to assist staff and students. There are plans to change and update the system so it's using InformaCast Fusion which gives more visual aids. The new update will pause usage of computers on campus with a banner across the screen to give written alerts of what is running through the audio broadcasts.

who to contact on campus with questions

There are plans that are in the works to update the EvCC website so that it is more accessible to find the resources you desire, and peoples contact information. I am also planning on pushing to get students automatically enrolled in RAVE the same way faculty are with their email. I am also excited to announce that there will be quarterly updates and announcements sent out on Canvas with these resources, their definitions, and links to register/sign up.
