Â
I am an active participant of the space nonprofit, Higher Orbits. I have gone to many of their Go For Launch! Events and have been an event winner four times in a row. With this program, I have spent two days alongside an astronaut as my team and I design an experiment that could be sent to the ISS to be tested, all while developing teamwork, public speaking, and leadership.
In 2025, I attended and spoke at the AIAA ASCEND conference in Las Vegas. I spoke on a panel at The Hub on behalf of Higher Orbits, in a discussion about my personal STEM journey, future career goals, and my vision for the space industry. In this conference I also dove deep into technical paper sessions and panels regarding space medicine.
I attended the IAA Space Traffic Management Conference at UT Austin this last February. During this conference, I learned extensively about orbital awareness, international relations, space policy, and space environmentalism. Once again, I spoke on a panel about my STEM journey, goals, and what I believe a sustainable space future looks like.
This year, I have kickstarted a chapter of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) at Midland College along with another student. Together, we have established our own student chapter and gathered over 40 interested students from our area. Our future plans include to watch an IREC competition, airport tour, see the Design-Build-Fly structures from nearby colleges, and host guest speakers. If you are interested in inspiring these students as an industy speaker, feel free to reach out!
