4th LTT Meeting - Our Art

A wonderful rainy spring week spent almost all together in Spain, finding out about art and our artistic talents. Also, how many buses can break down in one single trip along hilly Galicia 😂.

From Ferrol to...

We visited some of the most artistic places in the area in our cultural trips, not all of them man made:

Santiago de Compostela

San Andrés de Teixido

Sargadelos factory (Cervo)

Ferrol's Arsenal

Fuciño do Porco

Praia de Abrela

A short seminar on art history and a great workshop, all given by local Dutch artist Hedi Ploegstra

Day 1 - And we could also make time to try some fun artistic chemistry tricks and not so much fun, but as important traditional presentations

day 2

Santiago de Compostella cathedral architectural beauty in Romanesque and Baroque style. In the Portic, recently renovated, we took an imaginary journey through the last book of the Bible, the Apocalypse. And there was also at the exit from the Portico the statue of the craftsman Mateo, the builder of the cathedral, who had the longest signature in the world (from the two pictures with the inscription attached) and his own statue, which, if his disciples touched it, they were instantly 'infected' by the genius the master.

The roof is the most interesting. From stone slabs laid like stairs, on which we could climb, descend and admire the city from all angles and from various heights

day 3

creative day, bas-reliefs

visit to the City Hall

day 4

Sargadelos, Cervo, where we learned how some of the finest (and most expensive) porcelain in Europe

Cervo, where, through a forest of very tall eucalyptus trees, we climbed the mountain to admire the view of the Atlantic Ocean, after which we went down to the beach with very fine sand and many shells.

Vixía Herbeira, the highest cliffs in Europe, where we felt like we were on top of the world.

day 5

Today was a day full of color, movement and emotion. I painted the bas-reliefs made on Wednesday. I visited the Naval Arsenal and NATO base in Ferrol,

trip on the water with a military ship.

Then we had the ceremony of awarding certificates of participation and we sadly said goodbye to our friends from other countries
