ReScroll Privacy Policy

ReScroll ("the app," "we," "us") is developed by ETX Labs. This Privacy Policy explains what information ReScroll collects, how it's used, and what choices you have. We wrote this in plain language on purpose — if anything here is unclear, contact us using the email at the bottom.
The short version
ReScroll reads data-export files you download directly from Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube using each platform's own official export tool. That imported data stays on your device — we do not upload it, see it, or store a copy of it anywhere. We collect only the minimum needed to run your account and your subscription: your name and email address when you sign in, and standard purchase records from Apple when you subscribe. We do not sell your data, and we do not show ads.
Information we collect
Account information. When you sign in with Sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email address (or, if you choose to hide your email through Sign in with Apple's private relay, an anonymous relay address instead) and store it in our database (Firebase/Firestore, operated by Google) to identify your account and keep your Premium subscription tied to it across devices.
Your imported social media data. When you import an Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube data export inside ReScroll, the app reads and processes that file entirely on your device. We do not transmit this file, or any content extracted from it, to our servers or to any third party. It's stored locally in the app's private storage on your device so your stats persist between app launches, and it's deleted the moment you delete the app or remove that platform's import from Settings.
Subscription and purchase information. Subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. We receive confirmation from Apple that you have an active subscription so the app can unlock Premium features, but we never see or store your payment details (card numbers, billing address, etc.) — Apple handles all of that directly.
Information we do not collect. We do not use analytics or advertising SDKs, we do not access your device's Screen Time data, and ReScroll does not scrape, log into, or connect to Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube on your behalf — it only reads the export file you choose to import.
How we use information
We use your account information to: let you sign in across devices, keep your Premium subscription status in sync, and support the Friends feature (which currently uses example/placeholder data, not real connections to other users, and is clearly labeled as such in the app). We use your imported data only to compute and display the stats you see inside the app on your own device — it is never used for any other purpose, and we don't have access to it in the first place since it never leaves your device.
Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your imported social media data with anyone — we don't have it. We share account information only with the service providers that make the app work: Google (Firebase/Firestore for account storage, and Google Sign-In if you use it) and Apple (Sign in with Apple, and App Store/StoreKit for subscriptions). We may disclose information if required by law.
Your choices
You can remove any platform's imported data at any time from Settings > Manage Imported Data — this deletes it from your device immediately. You can sign out at any time from Settings > Account. To delete your account information from our database entirely, email us at the address below and we'll remove your record. You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your iPhone's Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions.
Children's privacy
ReScroll is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Data retention
Your imported social media data lives only on your device for as long as you keep it imported — we never receive a copy. Account information (name/email) is kept for as long as your account is active, and deleted upon request.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.

ReScroll Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the ReScroll mobile app ("the app," "we," "us"), developed by ETX Labs. By downloading or using ReScroll, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
What ReScroll is
ReScroll lets you import official data-export files from Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube to view personal statistics about your own activity on those platforms — things like posts liked, time watched, and similar figures drawn entirely from the export file you provide. ReScroll is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Meta, Instagram, TikTok/ByteDance, YouTube, or Google.
Your account
You may need to sign in (via Sign in with Apple or Google) to use certain features like syncing your Premium subscription across devices. You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for anything that happens under your account.
Your content
Your imported data export files, and any stats generated from them, are yours. We don't claim any ownership over them, and as described in our Privacy Policy, that data stays on your device — we never receive a copy of it.
Subscriptions (ReScroll Premium)
ReScroll offers optional auto-renewing subscriptions ("ReScroll Premium") in Monthly and Yearly options, unlocking additional stats, themes, and features. Subscription payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at the price you agreed to. You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your device's Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions. No refunds are provided by us directly — all purchases are billed and refunded through Apple's App Store, subject to Apple's own policies.
Acceptable use
You agree not to: use the app for any unlawful purpose; attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or interfere with the app's normal operation; upload or import any data export file that isn't your own, without the consent of the person it belongs to; or use the app in any way that could damage, disable, or impair our services.
Disclaimer of warranties
ReScroll is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do our best to accurately parse and display the data in your export files, but data-export formats are set by Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube and can change without notice — we can't guarantee that every number is perfectly accurate at all times. We are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or availability of the underlying export files those platforms provide to you.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ETX Labs is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do, and continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the app if you violate these Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable local consumer protection law provides otherwise.
