The S.A.F.E. project aims to promote personal and social well-being among European teenagers. Students from France, Greece, Italy, Poland and Spain work together to campaign for people’s emotional stability and life fulfilment.
Following the European LifeComp framework, the project focuses on three intertwined competence areas:
Personal, focusing on self-awareness and self-management to help students to understand and manage their emotions, thoughts, and behaviours.
Social, focusing on positive relationships to support students to develop and maintain healthy relationships with their peers, family, and teachers.
Learning to learn, focusing on longlife learning by developing a growth mindset , critical thinking and the ability to manage one’s own learning, which undoubtedly will help students to find meaning and purpose in their lives.
By means of collaborative research and production, they create diverse kinds of resources for information and support.
In order to achieve those objectives the process of work is also focused on the development of the 4 C’s of 21st century skills:
Communication, with the development of all five language skills in a foreign language by means of receptive and productive tasks.
Collaboration, as all the activities required the participation of peers, as a whole group in the initial stages while getting familiar with the topic, and in smaller international teams for the creation of knowledge and the resulting final products.
Critical thinking, due to the fact that students analyse and elaborate information in order to draw conclusions and take action accordingly.
Creativity. The creation of individual and team products promoted the expression of their talents taking advantage of their diverse strengths.
It is also our goal to create a sense of belonging, to promote empathy and support among students, so all the tasks look for everyone's engagement and promotes personal contribution to the final product always supported by peers.
