Acoustic Build

Day 4 - Afternoon

Finishing up to mount the neck.

Then we can locate & glue the bridge.

In other words, we are well on our way to an AGSO*)

AGSO: Acoustic Guitar-Shaped Object

Whoooo, boy.

That's one cattywampus headstock.

Hooray, rulers, pencils, & vertical belt sanders

Laying out the headstock tuner spacing only on the back side of the neck was, in retrospect, another one of my poor life choices.

Demo: routing a rosette using a rosette routing router template

Routed rosette.

Of course, the inside circle would have been routed through creating the sound hole

Time to mount the neck.

Demo: Countersunk Woodscrew Bit

Measure, pilot drill, enlarge pilot drilled through hole, drill clearance holes in neck, countersink neck holes to size, wax the threads, and mount the neck.

Demo:

Using the NCME/STEM Guitar bridge locating template

Bridge glued up...

Time to clean up and begin loading out.

The Acoustic Guitar-Shaped Objects settle in for a long night of curing. See ya in the morning.

Cleaning up in preparation of the last day

Protect those bottoms, boys.
