Refining the

Body Shape

"Quality of a design is directly proportional to the number of design iterations."

Dr. Joe (an aerospace project engineer)

We've gone from tracing someone else's design to creating something similar but noticeably different... it's "ours."

What's next?

The next step is to further refine the body shape. Why? Well, honestly because we can and should.

There needs to be some type of forearm relief ...

Let's throw down a couple of four points.

Then using the 3-Point Circle command (twice) in conjunction with the Tangent and Node Object Snaps and the Modify -> Trim command...

Sweet!

Maybe, we could have a single arc sweeping from the tip of the upper horn, tangent to the lower horn relief cut, and down to the lower bottom of the guitar body...

How would that look?

NICE!

And look how it falls right on or near the upper corner of the neck pocket.

After some trimming and refitting the neck pocket to the sweeping arc, the design of the guitar body has further evolved...

Hmmmmm, that one on the right looks somewhat familiar...

What's better than fun?

Stupid fun.

And so we have a real name now...
