Yes. The application will reopen, ONLY if there are still materials are available to loan. The frequency in which the application reopens will depend upon the amount of short-term vs. long-term loans we have and how many teachers are borrowing materials.
We know accidents happen, especially when working with kids! The lending library will handle damaged materials on a case-by-case basis. We do request that you bring the damaged material in to us so we can examine it in closer detail.
We know that the school year is a busy time, so we can be flexible with return dates as much as our schedules will allow. For short-term loans, which are just 30 days, we can offer a range of dates a week prior to your material due date to return materials. The same goes for long-term loans, however we cannot accept any materials after April 26th due to the time it takes to process the materials and the availability of the lending library personnel.
Because we have many teachers wanting to borrow materials, we cannot extend a loan if a short-term loan has already been signed. If a teacher wishes to loan materials again, he or she will need to complete the application again and wait to hear back from us. However, please note that priority will be given to teachers who have not yet received materials, so your material loan request may not be approved.
We have no control over what you choose to do with the materials once you sign the contract and have them in your possession. However, please note the issues of liability that could arise from letting others borrow your materials. If materials are stolen or lost, you will be responsible for paying for the materials.
The Center cannot accept material drop-offs on the weekends because no one will be in to receive and account for the materials. We ask that you please bring back materials during business hours. Please make arrangements with the Lending Library personnel for the day and time to pick up or return materials.
At this time, we are unable to ship materials out. Materials can only be picked up on ETSU's Johnson City campus in Warf-Pickel Hall, room 509. However, we now have a TSIN STEM Hub satellite lending library site at Northeast State Community college in Blountville, TN! You may now directly pick up materials from Northeast State's library, or at our main hub office, which is found in the Center of Excellence in STEM Education, room 509, Warf-Pickel Hall, on ETSU's Johnson City campus.
