Just because you want to wear something does not mean it's socially appropriate. Social events typically specify the attire and self-mastery means making a little more effort to present yourself at your best.
What does your outfit say about you? Is this the message that you want to send out to the world? Are you sending mixed or confusing messages by dressing in a way that is not consistent with your boundaries?
Is your outfit making the people around you uncomfortable? There is a reason why we are required to wear clothes in public. There is a certain point where revealing too much becomes indecent and disrespectful.
At CJC there are real consequences for not following the dress code. These are listed in the by-laws and include dress modification by our chaperones, informing the parents, and not being allowed into the event.
