CHECK - IN: All attendees have to check in at the door with their guests so we can account for everyone who has RSVPed and avoid party crashers. Our events do start on time, so you may come a little bit early to avoid a backlog at the door. Once everyone is checked in, doors are shut and no one is allowed to enter or leave until the event is over.
NO PHONES ALLOWED: Because our events are structured to encourage face-to-face interactions, we ask that you do not bring your phones. If you or your guest have your phones, you will be asked to surrender them at check in. We keep them in individual envelopes so there are no mix-ups, and give them back to you at the end. Please inform your and your guest's parents that they will not be able to reach you for a couple of hours, and that they may contact the adult chaperones in case of an emergency.
SENTRIES: The sentries will welcome you and your guest to the event, and also make sure that you are both adhering to our DRESS CODE.
DANCING: Aside from Winter Ball, our events have no structured program or seating. Once you are checked in, you are encouraged to say hello to whoever is already there, introduce your escort, and if the DJ is playing your song, START DANCING!
REFRESHMENTS: We only serve dinner at Winter Ball. We do offer snacks and drinks at all our other events, but we recommend eating dinner before you come. After all that dancing, members also usually go out for a late dinner after the party.
CLEAN-UP: All our events end long before midnight. Members and their guests who need service hours may stay and help with venue clean-up after the event. Any Board Member will be happy to sign their forms on behalf of CJC.
