EthoLab, coordinated by Prof. Dr. Ruan Daros, develops research, teaching, and extension projects focused on Ethology, Animal Welfare, and Applied Technologies.
In addition to overseeing the projects of graduate and undergraduate students, EthoLab holds weekly meetings to discuss a wide range of topics within the scientific debate, keeping participants up-to-date and engaging in discussions about animal welfare!
EthoLab started in 2020 at PUCPR under the name GEEA - Study Group on Epidemiology and Applied Ethology in Animal Welfare, linked to the Veterinary degree of the School of Medicine and Life Sciences. Since then the group has increased in size and different goals have emerged leading to the creation of the EthoLab and the EthoLiga in 2024.
While the EthoLab is focused on academic research on a range of issues related to animals and how society views them, the EthoLiga is geared towards animal welfare education focused on undergraduate student development. Both initiatives are open to students and researchers from other universities and industries.
