First Symposium of Animal Welfare by EthoLab

The symposium, which was held at the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná (PUCPR) on April 10th, 2025, brought together students and professionals for an afternoon of lectures and discussions on current and relevant topics.
The event featured Prof. Dr. Jean-Loup Rault (University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna, Austria), who spoke about the concept of positive welfare; Prof. Dr. Rosangela Poletto Cattani (IFRS, Certified Humane - USA), who discussed the role of animal welfare professionals in the job market; and Prof. Dr. Maria Jose Hötzel (UFSC, LETA), who acted as moderator during the roundtable discussion.
Supported by PPGCA-PUCPR, UFAW LINK, and EthoLiga PUCPR, the symposium fostered meaningful reflections and interdisciplinary exchange, reinforcing the commitment to animal welfare.
