It's EXTREMELY important to maintain a balanced budget and avoid debt as much as possible. If our budget for the month won't cover it, and we don't absolutely need to purchase it right away, don't buy it, and let's not spend our money until we actually have it in our hands.Â
Now, obviously life will still throw unexpected challenges our way, and as a result we'll sometimes have to borrow money from someone else in order to make necessary purchases (food, OTC medicine, prescriptions, car repairs, critical surgeries, etc.) and to be able to keep paying the mortgage/rent. It's just a part of life.
But we should pay off those unavoidable debts as soon as possible. Idaho has the amazing ability to avoid large amounts of debt, especially large amounts of unnecessary debt. Let's try and keep it that way, and borrow only when absolutely necessary (and pay it off asap).
