Amira is an AI reading assistant that serves as a personal reading tutor, offering students automated running records to track errors and self-corrections, providing educators with in-depth, organized assessment results (Amira Learning, 2023). Teachers do not have to spend hours sitting one-to-one with students doing running records. Instead, students can be assessed using a mobile device on their reading skills such as decoding, phonological awareness, sight recognition, background knowledge, vocabulary, structures and reasoning (Amira Learning, 2023).

Lexplore, an AI reading assessment tool used in Sweden, uses eye tracking and AI to conduct reading assessments for Grades 1 to 4. The eye movement shows the brain’s reading process, providing reading skill results in five levels: high, above average, average, below average, and low (Lexplore, 2022).
