Objectives:
Students will identify the origins of collage as an art form, focusing on Pablo Picasso and the Cubist movement.
Students will discuss how collage can convey personal, political, or cultural messages both historically and today.
Students will brainstorm ideas for a collage project that incorporates historical and contemporary approaches.
Students will recognize the value of diverse perspectives in contemporary art, as seen in Raquel van Haver’s work.
