Or, you are unhappy with your current job, don't feel fulfilled, or recently lost your job and you are looking for a new job or career path?

Jennie is an academic advisor at UBC. She has worked with domestic and international students from their first year of study to their graduating years. She loves working with students to explore their full potential while attending university. However, some of the most frequent questions she get are "How do I become ____ when I graduate?" "What do you think I should major in?" Or "if I study ____, what jobs can I get when I graduate?
Students out of high school are often unaware of the career paths available in the future. Or they may have passion in a specific area, but having a job after graduation is also a realistic concern. Students often study what they are told to study in, or what they think they should study to get a job. This prevents them from exploring their true passions, as they are unaware of the options in their career paths after they graduate.
To complicate the matter, some students are introverted and shy. They are afraid to speak with advisors or ask for help. These students miss the opportunity for conversations that can help them expand their options and views.
Jennie decided to create CareerVantage to help students navigate through their career options. Furthermore, she hopes to send the message that life can change, it is okay to be flexible and to pursue your passion. She understands that income is a great factor for many students when it comes to career choices, but she hopes to let students know that the real drive to success is always your passion and dedication.
