I am a licensed psychologist and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor I (CADC I) in Oregon. I completed my doctoral degree at Pacific University in 2017.
I draw on a variety of therapeutic approaches including DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Feminist therapy, and Interpersonal Process (IPT). I view the therapeutic journey as one on which I collaborate with my clients to decide what approach will be the most helpful to them in building the life they want to lead. I believe that while I have some information and skills that can be helpful to you, you are the expert on you. I provide individual and couples therapy to adults with a broad variety of concerns.
I specialize in working with sexual and gender minority clients as well as those who struggle with substance use concerns. I identify as a sex positive and kink friendly therapist and enjoy working with clients who are polyamorous, are in other forms of ethical non-monogamous relationships, or are exploring relationship styles, sexual orientation, or gender identity. In working with those struggling with substance concerns I am open to both harm reduction and abstinence approaches.
I also have extensive experience with first responders. I offer evening appointments to accommodate varying schedule needs and understand that first responders have unique experiences and needs in therapy.
My clients find that I take a laid back, somewhat irreverent approach to therapy. I enjoy using humor and celebrating your successes with you. Sometimes I cuss because there isn't a better emphasis for a given situation. Coming to therapy is hard work and often isn't a fun process. My goal is to help you make it a fulfilling process and be a friendly, calming, supportive, and trustworthy companion on your journey.
