The performance is divided into three parts.
It explores non-chronological, contemplative, and long-duration themes, oscillating between inertia and movement, meaning and abstraction in sound, realities and dreams. A self-auscultation of a disease that, once I am able to diagnose, I attempt to cure.
The first part begins with a modified sound of my breathing, as I lie curled up. I play “an irrational game of chance,” throwing golden rings onto a circular table and placing talismans in specific orders. The sounds are altered, distorted, and amplified through a contact microphone attached to the table.
Then, through a lens, the inner muscles of the throat are magnified on a screen; the movement of the organ that produces words is revealed in all its viscosity. I read a poem in German that, at certain moments, repeats: “Kannst du noch etwas spüren?”
In the final part, I chew ginger, gargle, and collect the liquid in a jar. I take a flower out of its pot, remove the soil from its roots, and spit onto them. I return to a curled-up position, circling back.
