The Laramie Woman's Club gives out one scholarship every year to a resident of Albany County for continued education. Applicants must be a resident of Albany County and seeking to further their education within Wyoming either at the University or other higher/continued education institute.
The Scholarship was established in 2023 in honor of Mary Godat Bellamy one of our early club members and club president from 1901-1903. Although she is best known as being the first woman to be elected to the Wyoming Legislator. Mary was a democrat and supported many education initiatives. Thus, it is fitting that the LWC Scholarship is in her honor.
Applications for the 2026-2027 school year are now open and you can find the document below.
You can also go to the GFWC Wyoming website for other scholarships offered by the state. There are three state scholarships awarded, the Mary N Brooks, the Pauline Hays, and the Ruth Claire Yonkee scholarships. Find those at Scholarships - General Federation of Women's Clubs of Wyoming .
