Support for teachers
Essex SACRE are delighted to announce that they are now able to support schools in attaining the Religious Education Quality Mark. You can find the criteria for assessment here but are welcome to contact Ben Maddison (benjamin.maddison@aru.ac.uk ) for an introductory discussion about your readiness for assessment. Lyon’s Hall Primary School are currently preparing for assessment this summer and we have 5 others in Essex who are beginning their preparation soon. SACRE may be able to support you financially, through consultancy time and can put you in touch with others on the journey to RE Gold!
It’s the chance to celebrate great RE. We know that when it is done well, learners engage with the big ideas about being human.
It celebrates the great work you and your students are already doing. It recognises your high quality RE and good practice. The mark provides awards based on the REQM criteria. Schools gather evidence for an assessment, which provides an award certificate and enables subject development.
Learning, Teaching, Curriculum and Leadership are the four categories which are assessed. The criteria are detailed in this document.
