Language development for beginning English speakers. Concentration on all language skills: reading, writing, grammar, listening, speaking, and vocabulary. This is the second in a series of four. Prepares students for ESOL 530.
Students will demonstrate improved ability to communicate in English by writing a descriptive paragraph about a picture using skills acquired during class and specifically using the simple past and past progressive verb tenses. The paragraph should also include a picture topic sentence and utilize organizational strategies.
Students will demonstrate improved oral communication skills by giving a short presentation about a topic covered in class.
Students will demonstrate improved reading comprehension by accurately answering questions about an article read in class.
