Vision - 3 Features (Horizontal, for Demand Gen Campaign)
"The two factors I chose are, "Whether parents Speak English" and "Poverty". English as second language concerns me because I want to make sure that the parents know what is going on at school with their child. If their parents do not speak English, how will I relay my notes about the child? Some strategies I gathered from the readings were, "preparing myself for what the parents might ask me", so I am calmer and helpful when talking to them. Also, have a translator with me during parent/child meetings. I can use pictures to help with teaching the students to better understand English.
The reason poverty worries me is that I want to make sure that my students are getting fed regularly and to make sure they have everything that they need for school. Without adequate nutrition, children cannot learn. Having an angel tree for the classroom and asking volunteers to donate supplies for the class so that the students who cannot afford bookbags and etc do not have to worry about those things. I would guide the student and their family to our social worker to help them find benefits to support their home lives."
