Many other animals are used for all types of testing. This has upset many people who have campaigned against this and now, some companies make their products "Free from animal testing"
Caged hens that lay eggs can get very sick and not treated to get better. Some of them die and are left in the cage. They don't get any exercise and have low calcium leading to broken bones that are not treated. Caged eggs are cheaper and still sold in supermarkets. Free range eggs are a lot more expensive.
When animals are being exported the conditions they experience during their journey leads to suffering and high death rates. Exporting live animals to other countries from Australia helps our economy but many argue that the harm it has on the animals and environment isn't worth it.
