During my internship at Southwestern Veterans's Center, a skilled nursing facility with a dedicated memory care unit, I gained hands-on experience in occupational therapy within geriatric rehabilitiation and long-term care. My work centered assistin occupational therapists and physical therapists with their interventions.
Clinical ExperienceÂ
worked alongside in collaboration with occupational therapists, occupational therapist assistants, physical therapists, physical therapy assistants, speech therapists, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and social workers
observed over 200 hours of occupational therapy evaluations, treatments, and care planning
supported and conducted mobitilty assesments with OTR/L's, including the Power-Mobility Indoor Driving Assessment (PIDA)
Theraputic Support
provided cues to enhance client engagements, attention, and safe participation in one-on-one care a fitness group
assisted occupational therapists with running fitness group
