Mobility Detva 04/2019
From 1 to 5 April, the first international mobility took place, involving 35 pupils and 8 teachers.
The initial mobility took place in Slovakia, in the project coordinating country.
Sunday:
- arrival of the partners to the accommodation
- first meeting in Detva – basics information about the program, mutual recognition of participants
Monday:
The program started with the welcoming by the headmaster of the school Ing. Ján Melich. Students were divided in different mixed group and presented the schools, educational systems, subjects and history, culture and nature of the region too. Activities continue with the introduction games and quizzes about Slovakia, its language and customs.
Afternoon the program continues in the riding and sports-recreation area of Masaryk dvor in Vígľaš. Participants got information about the history of the site and its gradual transformation from ruin to a very successful tourism facility (presentation of the director of the company). After the presentation there was a tour of the area, including wellness centre and equestrian facilities. After returning to Detva, participants could see the centre of Old Detva and its monuments.
Thuesday:
Tuesday morning participants spent in the nature at the Hafernik ranch in Detvianska Huta, where the students tried riding skills and for their skill they were rewarded with a delicious barbecue. They could get acquainted with another form of tourism business suitable for the rural region of Podpoľanie. Horse ranch Hafernik is a very popular facility for tourist which like nature and organizes regularly “riding school” for children and adults.
After returning to school, students and teachers prepared all materials and documentation for the regional training company fair in Žiar nad Hronom.
Wednesday:
This was the main activity not only the following day, but also the whole mobility. The fair was held in the Municipal Cultural Center in Žiar nad Hronom. Training companies competed in traditional categories: the best electronic presentation of the training company, the best slogan, the best stand, the best logo, the best training firm catalogue. Training companies from all over Slovakia and our international team with travel agency presenting tourism products of all participating countries presented themselves at the traditional fair.
We have also won a prize in the form of a third place for the best logo. In the afternoon our guests visited Zvolen. Students from Host organisation Spojená škola Detva won the first place with the best business plan and the second place with the catalogue.
After the fair participants stayed in Zvolen and visited the Main Square and museum in the castle.
Thuersday:
On Thursday the participants moved to Banská Štiavnica. In the morning they looked at the mining museum and got acquainted with the history of metal mining in Banská Štiavnica. They could get know with one of the Europe's oldest mining production centre as well as the oldest mining school. They got information about the importance of the trade in previous centuries. After a tour of the town, they visited Kammerhof's workshop where they tried baking bread, gold panning and making small souvenirs. On their way home they stopped at the Vígľaš Chateau.
Friday:
The final day belonged to the overall evaluation. Students set up a project account on Facebook and Instagram, prepared a project presentation and painted a memory of mobility in the yard in front of the school. At the end of the school program, all participants received certificates and small gifts. For lunch, everyone moved to a farm under Melichova skala where they could learn about traditional agricultural work in Podpolanie and try out the goodies of the region. In the afternoon a trip to Banská Bystrica followed. They visited the Museum of Slovak national uprising and Main Square.
In the evenings participants individually placed information and galleries from mobility in the school webpages, Facebook and Instagram. Also the web page of the project was created.
