Mobility Detva 01/2019

On 21-24 January, the first Erasmus + project meeting "Young Entrepreneurs in Europe" was held. The project coordinator is Spojená škola Detva, partners are secondary schools from three countries - Srednja skola Koprivnica from Croatia, IISS "Ilaria Alpi - E. Montale" from Italy and I.E.S. Juan Ciudad Duarte from Spain.

At the first project meeting, we hosted 6 teachers from our partner countries in Detva. On Monday the school representatives presented their educational programs with an emphasis on teaching economic skills. We have become familiar with the curricula, structure and content of vocational subjects, graduate profile as well as methods of teaching entrepreneurial skills.

The next day we spent with a specific subject - a training firm/company that enables the integration of cross-curricular relationships in the teaching of economic subjects. Slovak and Croatian representatives, who teach the subject, introduced the concepts and content of this subject in their country. We also invited an expert from the Slovak side - Ing. Olga Ďuricová, who is one of the founders of this subject in Slovakia. She introduced us to the whole genesis of the introduction of this subject following the example of Austria as well as its functioning under Slovak conditions. We also spoke about the history of the regional training firms' fair in Žiar nad Hronom, which we plan to participate in together. The lecture was followed by excursions of two companies in the region, namely Farms under Melichova skala and Ubytovanie pod Siroňou. Our guests had the opportunity not only to get to know the beautiful nature of Podpoľanie, but also to try delicious local specialties.

On Wednesday morning we presented the forms of teaching economic subjects in Slovakia as well as competitions in which pupils can participate during their studies. We discussed with the partners the idea and concept of a comon economic competition that we would have realized for the project participants. This was followed by intensive preparation for the first student mobility in April in Slovakia. The main activity will be participation in the regional training firms' fair, where we will present our joint travel agency selling the product of each region. We divided our tasks in creating a logo, poster, catalogue and presentation. We would like to participate in all competitions organized by the fair. The workshop was followed by a visit to the Regional government in Banská Bystrica, where we met Ing. Miroslav Martiš, director of the department for education. We discussed the organization of regional education, its adaptation to the needs of the labour market or inclusive education.

In addition to the work program, we also presented our region. On Monday we visited the reconstructed Galicia Nueva Hotel in Galicia. On Tuesday we introduced one of the jewels of Slovakia – the town Banská Štiavnica registered in UNESCO. On Wednesday, we enjoyed the winter atmosphere of Banska Bystrica.
