UNITED KINGDOM

Yealmpstone Farm Primary School

Our school values diversity and challenges everyone to be the best they can be. We have been committed to the teaching of a global curriculum for more than 15 years; embedding international values alongside British values in our school syllabus to promote cultural cohesion. We have been granted the International School Award, the Fairtrade status and the School Games Mark.

As a school, we are experienced in running European Projects. Moreover, we have been awarded the British Council -International Award - which highlights the importance of global/international curriculum. Moreover, we are putting a huge emphasis on the introduction of the STEM curriculum, following the UK government strategy to train engineers and innovators of the future. In the time of ‘Brexit’, it is important to promote European cultural heritage among our pupils. This project will help us to foster cooperation, teamwork, respect, tolerance, appreciation for different cultures and in encouraging a positive attitude among people no matter the country, religion and race.

TURKEY

Kızılisal Primary School

Kızılisalı Primary School, which combines cultural and natural beauties together on the shores of the Mediterranean, is located in Silifke district of Mersin. Our school, which is 27 km from Silifke, 67 km from Mersin, started education in 1968 and is one of the most established primary schools in Silifke. In our school 18 teachers work and we have 210 students between the ages of 6-10. Refugee children constitute 10% of our students and seasonal workers children the 35%.

Our school is a successful eTwinning school that has attracted attention with its Total Quality Management studies. It also has successful results from various competitions across the province and district, as well as in the Comenius, Erasmus + and eTwinning European projects it has conducted. Our school has been awarded the 'eTwinning School Label', the 'STEM School Label' and the 'eSafety Silver Label'. We want to offer a happy environment to our teachers and disadvantaged students through our efforts to improve school climate and student well-being. Our main goal is to ensure that our students are individuals with 21st-century skills.

POLAND

Zespol Szkolno-Przedszkolny

'Zespół Szkolno-Przedszkolny' is situated in a small village called Brzeźnica near the town Racibórz. Racibórz is in the south of Poland and we have only about 15 km to the Czech Republic. Our school is a primary school with 11 staff and 98 students between the ages of 3 and 12. Our school is small and everybody can feel here like in one big family.

Children are learning new things with pleasure and thanks to it they are able to win a lot of competence. Students at our school are very tolerant because they know what it means thanks to the project which we have had. We like using ICT during lessons, for instance, for searching for something on the internet or working with the interactive whiteboard. We also do a small class or school projects. We are interested in new technologies, projects and innovation. We want to see how it works in other countries and how teachers around the world cope with the problem: how to be tolerant.

SPAIN

Escola Lluís Vives

Lluís Vives School is located in Castelldefels, a town on the coast, 20 km from Barcelona, Spain. It is a pre-primary and primary school, with 450 students ranging from 3 to 12 years old.

We cater for all the diversity and adapt our methodologies to ensure that every student receives what he/she needs. There are students with special needs and some at risk of social exclusion, mainly because of the economic situation of their families.

In our school we work by projects in all the grades. These are related to science and involve the different subjects (English, Spanish, Catalan, Maths, Music, and a bit of Arts). Furthermore, we include a lot he new technologies in the development of the projects, considering them an essential tool both for teaching and learning. Thus, we have iPads, smartboards, projectors and Apple TVs in all the classes, as well as Green Screen walls, tripods...

CZECH REPUBLIC

Základní škola SPECIÁLNÍ Ostrava

Our school is a special elementary school located in the regional capital of Ostrava, near the border with Poland. The school has 75 employees and 172 pupils.

We use ICT technologies in the classroom: interactive whiteboards, iPads, swetbox, smart tablet, robotic aids. Our teachers are constantly educating themselves in new trends and using their knowledge to work with pupils.

As part of the KA1 call, this year we asked for a project to exchange experiences - shading with the Slovak and Polish partners and language courses for teachers. We have no experience in the Erasmus project yet, but we have a lot of experience with other European projects.

We are the faculty school of Ostrava University. One of our teachers teaches at Ostrava University. The other two workers teach lessons on how to work with iPads. A worker manages our art workshop with technology-based work.

SERBIA

OŠ ,,Milan Mijalković"

Elementary school "Milan Mijalkovic" from Jagodina bears the name of national hero Milan Mijalkovic. The school was founded in 1951. 5 - 12 year-old students receive education in our school. Our school has 28 classrooms, a sports hall, a music room and an equipped Science Lab.

In the schoolyard, there is a handball court with stands and a basketball court. The school employs 64 teachers and has 695 students.

We strive to empower all students to be part of our community and to participate equally in its work.
